Target Audience:
My target audience is for females and males aged between 15 and over. I have set it at 15 because I believe that this is the age when a child begins to fully understand the concepts of sex and love. Though I understand, that in this ever-changing world where teenagers and children are being exposed to many things beyond their age that this target audience will not necessarily be directed to its intentions. Especially with the public domain of the internet.
This age group is also experiencing the ideas created in the music video which gives them something to relate to.
As this age is my target audience I have constructed a pre-production survey in which I put forward to them for feedback which could influence my process.
This target audience is also the prime age for users of music video outlets such as: Facebook, YouTube and MTV.
The appeal of my artist to the target audience is that she represents the journey that they are all going through, one of angst, hurt and emotion but also happiness and hope. Also, the promotion of Dani as an original artist will inspire many people of 15 and over who play instruments or sing to follow their own passions. I will promote the honest aspects of Dani Scharpf and focus on her musical whilst promoting an image of ‘Romanticised Nature’. I will do this through the motif of red roses, which are Dani’s favourite flower. The audience will then be able to connote roses to her.
